The Interreg Knowledge Fair gathered more than 200 people from more than 70 programmes to discuss the future of Interreg, following the publication of the draft MFF, and the introductory webinar on 12 September 2025.
The first day featured longer sessions, with a special focus on the design of programmes, the roles and responsibilities of programme bodies as well as a walk through on the Performance-Based Approach. The was following a brief introductory plenary with Moray Gilland (Head of Macro-regions, Transnational, Interregional, External Cooperation, Enlargement Unit, also known as D1), as well as Jean-Pierre Halkin (Former Head of Interreg Cross-Border Cooperation, Internal Borders Unit, also known as D.2).
The second day saw the return of parallel sessions, with participants twice choosing between four sessions, before an interactive plenary enabled the discussion of 10 more topics between programmes, and facilitated by Interact.
In the coming days the presentations from the Fair will be uploaded, and by the end of November reports from all the content sessions will be uploaded to the event page of Interact.eu.
The next steps on the Post 2027 journey will be announced after Interact's next Monitoring Committee, when the work plan for 2026 is to be agreed.
