Accounting function

The accounting function of Interreg programmes covers the processes of involved in the payment processes of programmes, as well as the wider tasks to audit and certify payments.

Where to start

Programmes are required to set out how they will approach the accounting function and which body shall be appointed to do so. The full scope of the roles and responsibilities are set out in the description of management and control systems.

What we are working on

The network for Bodies performing the accounting function and Certifying Authorities (for 2014-2020 period) will meet twice during 2025. Online meeting took place on 23 April 2025 and in-person event is planned for October 2025.
