Keeping Programmes on Track III – Programme Management
Keeping Programmes on Track III – Programme Management
Jointly prepared by Interact and DG REGIO’s Interreg Unit, the third webinar in the Keeping Programmes on Track series will focus on effective programme management: how Interreg programmes can address implementation challenges, use available flexibility and stay focused on achieving their agreed results.
The webinar will follow the full programme management process, from assessing and strengthening absorption capacity and attracting projects through targeted calls and outreach to practical tools for increasing the spending rate as a key indicator of implementation progress. It will explore how to improve efficiency while maintaining compliance with applicable rules and reducing the risk of audit findings.
Participants will explore how to identify implementation bottlenecks, select appropriate corrective actions and make use of the flexibility available under the applicable Regulations and within the existing programme framework. The discussion will emphasise a structured, evidence-based approach, connecting current territorial needs and absorption capacity with programme implementation progress.
The webinar will encourage timely and proportionate action, starting with standard management tools and available flexibility. As a final step, it will also address when a programme amendment may be justified, where these measures have proved insufficient and the need for change is clearly documented.
