InterFIN 2026

Post 2027 (Interreg VII) Decommitment SCOs Management verifications Anti-fraud and risk

InterFIN 2026: Two days dedicated to finance in Interreg

Finance professionals from across the Interreg community will gather in Tallinn, Estonia, on 27–28 May 2026 for the second edition of InterFIN, an event dedicated to financial management, programme implementation and future regulatory developments.

Following the successful launch of InterFIN last year, the event confirmed a clear need for finance practitioners to meet regularly, exchange experience and discuss emerging challenges in person. The Tallinn edition will continue this initiative by offering a programme that combines expert input, peer exchange and practical workshops.

The first day focuses on key financial management topics in the current programming period and preparation for 2028–2034. Participants can tailor their agenda through thematic sessions covering verification, audit and irregularities (including SCOs), improving programme performance and avoiding decommitment, and state aid and private partners. Afternoon workshops will address control and audit requirements in the post-2027 framework and programme financial planning, including cash flows and pay-out design.

The second day features an interactive workshop on combating fraud and corruption, a key element of assurance and risk management in Interreg programmes. Participants will explore innovative approaches to strengthening Management and Control Systems by combining AI tools, open-source research techniques and data analysis to identify risks and improve anti-fraud procedures.

A networking dinner on 27 May will provide additional space for informal exchanges among programme finance staff from across Europe.

See you in Tallinn!
