The Interreg Slam 2026-2027 is a Europe-wide storytelling championship celebrating the human side of Interreg cooperation. It is open to all Interreg programmes and their funded projects and it is your chance to turn years of hard work into a story that resonates, inspires, and reaches hundreds of thousands of people.
This is not just another competition. It is a journey through three exciting stages: crafting your narrative, producing a professional video, and performing live on a European stage.
What’s in it for you?
- Every participant gains something valuable. Finalists gain everything:
- Free professional storytelling training through the Interact Academy (with certificate)
- A professionally produced promotional video worth thousands of euros - yours to keep and use forever
- Expert performance coaching for live stage delivery
- Massive exposure across Interreg’s European communication network
- A live performance slot at the Interreg Knowledge Fair (March 2027, TBC) in front of policymakers, programme managers, and decision-makers
- A shot at three prestigious awards: the Slam Winner, the European Commission’s Award, and the Social Media Award
Three Stages of the journey
Stage 1 - Craft your story (April - June 2026)
- Kick-off event: 20 April 2026 (online)
- Storytelling trainings via Interact Academy: 13 and 25 May 2026 (online)
- Story Submission Deadline: 8 June 2026
- Finalists Announced: 22 June 2026
Stage 2 - Bring it to life on video (June - October 2026)
- Professional video production for all 6 finalists (fully covered by Interact)
- Social Media Competition: November 2026 with public voting across Europe
Stage 3 - Take the stage (March 2027 TBC)
- Performance coaching and preparation: January - March 2027
- Grand finale at the Interreg Knowledge Fair: March 2027 (TBC) - live performances and award ceremony
Who can apply?
Participation is open to all Interreg programmes - Cross-Border, Transnational, Interregional, IPA-CBC, ENI-CBC, OMR - and all their funded projects. Whether your project is ongoing or completed, from this programming period or a previous one: if you have an inspiring story about cooperation, you are welcome to apply.

- Register for the Slam Kick-off and storytelling trainings
- Submit your completed story by 8 June 2026 to: stoyan.kanatov@interact.eu
Applications must be submitted via the Managing Authority or Joint Secretariat of the respective Interreg programme, so take your time in advance to coordinate. All necessary documents are published with this announcement.
