The Commission has launched the call for evidence on Pact for the eastern border regions.

This new pact aims to increase the resilience of the eastern regions bordering Russia, Belarus and Ukraine in light of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and its consequences on those regions.

It sets out special actions to be taken in the short, medium and long-term to address complex challenges such as:

• restrictions on cross-border contacts
• growing threats to physical security and cybersecurity
• the weaponisation of migration and disinformation
• economic underperformance.

The feedback period ends on 18 September.
